In our homeschool, we dedicate atleast one day to go out and I try to do a review for other parents to see these different places in light of taking your children there.

So, our first outing in 2021 was Lufasi Park

Lufasi park is an acronym for Lekki Urban Forestry and Animal Shelter [source] located Majek 1st Gate, KM 41, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, Lekki - Epe expressway is fancy way for saying, it's after LBS, after Novare mall, so be aware of the distance.

I've always wanted to to there because of nature, serene environment I have heard about and honestly it was exactly what it delivered.

What I loved about the place;

When you enter, you'd notice how clean it is. They must really pay so much attention to make it clean and maintianing in the environment and that is so commendable. They have a place for you to wash your hands. I loved that they assign you a guide, but I went when it wasn't a rush hour, so I don't know the dynamics when there are a lot of people.

The tour guide (Nike) was very knowledgeable and was patient especially even with my son, waiting for him, telling him about the things, playing with him and that was just great to see

Nike waiting for my son to count his steps.

Asides the obvious maintaince of the place and friendly staff, I absoluetly loved how serene the place is, I really wish it wasn't so far. From the experience of my son, there is enough room to run through the "Jungle", see the lake, see the animals they have in the shelters (Donkey, goats, ram, tortise, monkey, ducks..) and when they are bored of the place there is a playground for them to let lose!

I loved the serenity of the lake and they have benches and tables around the park where people can just chill and have a picnic.

What I didn't like about the place: I only wish some of the things in the playground are better maintained. I also wish the lake area was more secure for kids (Maybe I am asking for too much) because I literally had to hold him back and not stay long at all by the lake. Asides that, it's really hard to find what is wrong with the place.

How to prepare yourself if you are going with kids: Go early so you can get there before the sun is on full blast, get sun protected (facecap, sunscreen), Binoculars, lots of water, snacks, games to play and wipes.

Price: Tickets to enter Lufasi Park for adults is N1000 and children N500

Rating: 4 Cuddly Loves

We would say this was a day well spent!

Have you been to Lufasi Park? What do you think about the place?
